Ritual at Eagle River

Experimental Music

September, 16th 2016

Performed by Katie Kroko and Andrew Israelsen at Eagle River, Juneau, AK.

Katie Kroko: Hand Bells, Cymbals

Andrew Israelsen: Hand Bells, Cymbals

Ritual at Eagle River is a ritualistic, spatial exploration of the quiet interaction of sounds within a natural space.

In this long duration performance, rain and wind determine the form of the piece moreso than the performers do.  Performers stand perched atop an oblong hill, walking with deliberation on opposite sides of the hill, pacing their steps and their distance from each other, playing tones in response to the natural environment.
